Mohd Nasril Nourdin
Nasril was a product of the Bukit Jalil Sports School. He participated in the Sukma Games of 2002, representing Malaysian Schools Sports Council. For Sukma Games in 2006, however, he represented the State of Perak.
Nasril spent some time playing Perak FA in their reserve squad, but an injury to first choice goalkeeper Hamsani Ahmad, coupled with the loss of form of back-up goalkeeper usual Tay Sin Kiat forced coach Steve Darby Nasril to play.
Nasril made his first team debut, December 4, 2005 in a match against Perak Selangor Charity Shield, which won 4-1. Nasril 's performance drew the plaudits of the press and coach Darby.
Perak continued to keep faith in Nasril, even after the first choice Hamsani Ahmad back injury. On 24 January 2006, just over a month after his first team debut, Nasril was mobilized for the centralised training with the national squad and subsequently presented in their friendly against New Zealand.
Nasril was nominated as one of the nation 's three best goalkeepers in the first Prix de Football Association Malaysia, held in 2006. The other contenders were Terengganu's Syamsuri Mustaffa and Negri Sembilan' s Azizon Abdul Kadir. Syamsuri Mustaffa finally won.
Reports surfaced in September 2006 that Blackburn Rovers were monitoring Nasril. It was reported Rovers scout Mike Riggs wanted to give a Nasril trial. It could be a problem to obtain a work permit, although Malaysia are 154th in the rankings of FIFA and of a national team needs to be in the top 70 to be considered for the English Premier League. However, as of April 2007, nothing has materialized and the interest seems to have cooled.
